The Undergraduate Research Symposium will be held for the third time in conjunction with ICAPS 2026 on 9 October 2026. The URISE is open only to undergraduates of the University of Kelaniya. 

The URISE offers undergraduates of the University of Kelaniya a unique platform to present their work, connect with peers and professionals, and receive valuable feedback from experts. This is a good opportunity for the undergraduates to enhance their presentation skills, and the event aligns well with the vision of the university. 

Undergraduates are invited to submit abstracts of their scientific research or innovative projects (completed or work in progress) that align with the theme of ICAPS 2026, “Sustainable Innovations: Scientific Pathways for a Resilient Future”, under the following categories.

• Scientific Research

• Innovative Products

Work involving prototypes, devices, or physical models are encouraged to submit abstracts under the Innovation Product category.

Presentation mode of a selected abstract is subjected to its category:

• Poster presentations (Scientific Research category)

• Live demonstrations (Innovative Products category)

 The student collaborators of all accepted projects will receive certificates acknowledging their contribution to the advancement of science. 

Outstanding projects will be specially recognised. First, second, and third places will be selected under each category.
