Dr Akila Wijethunge is a lecturer from Mechatronics Technology, Faculty of Technology, University of Sri Jayewardenepura completed her PhD degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Her research interests include IoT and Automation, Smart Grid Applications and Machine Learning. She was a scholar of Erasmus + PhD student exchange program in 2017.Currently Akila serves as Chair - IEEE Young Professionals Sri Lanka, IEEE Women in Engineering Region 10 (Asia Pacific) Executive Committee , Vice Chair - IEEE Women in Engineering Sri Lanka and committee member of IEEE Power and Energy Society Sri Lanka chapter.
Dr. Laalitha obtained his bachelor's degree in science with a specialization in physics at the University of Peradeniya. He completed his PhD in engineering at Mississippi State University (MSU). The PhD research was in computational materials conducted at the Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems in MSU. After graduation Dr. Laalitha was offered a post-doctoral research associate position at Central Michigan University and then at the University of North Texas. He worked on developing a high-throughput materials framework capable of automating thousands computational investigations using supercomputer systems. In 2016 Dr. Laalitha joined the department of applied computing of the Faculty of Computing and Technology at the University of Kelaniya, Sri Lanka. At UOK, he serves as the director of the faculty research center, head of CMMD Lab and an academic advisor. He has research collaborations with CMU and UNT and he is a visiting scholar to the ERMES group at the University of North Texas.
