Professor David Rae

 

 

Professor David Rae is the Executive Dean, Research & Knowledge Exchange, at Bishop Grosseteste University in Lincoln, United Kingdom. He has previously held senior roles as Dean of the Shannon School of Business, Cape Breton University, Canada; and Professor of Business & Enterprise at the University of Lincoln, United Kingdom. Professor David Rae is a leading innovator and researcher in the human and social dynamics of entrepreneurship, learning and small business management. He has achieved professional and academic recognition for his contributions to entrepreneurship research, education, policy and regional development, in both Europe and internationally.

His career and professional activities are centred around applying creative ideas to opportunities, advancing enterprise and entrepreneurship. He believes people’s creativity and ability to learn is at the heart of developing entrepreneurial opportunities and innovations. As a leader, educator, writer, researcher and practitioner, he is committed to enabling people to learn and develop their ideas, opportunities, new knowledge, social and business ventures. His current research on the role of Open Data in informing entrepreneurship contributes to his keynote address.
